Every Voter in NY State Getting Postage-paid Absentee Ballot Application for June Election
New York - We're all absentee voters now. Gov. Andrew Cuomo said on Friday that every voter in the state will be receiving in the mail an application to vote by absentee ballot, something normally reserved for the elderly or those out of town.
The ballot, which will be for the June 23 election, will allow voters to make their choice by mail in the Democratic presidential primary, as well as primaries in special elections across the state.
The absentees come amid New York's worst pandemic in a century, potentially disrupting the democratic process.
There are 11.5 million active voters in the state.
