Fire Breaks Out At NYPD Impound Lot, Again

By Idy Perl

A fire is currently blazing at NYPD's Erie Basin Auto Pound lot on Columbia Street, where hundreds of confiscated vehicles are parked. Smoke from the fire can be seen from the BQE.

FDNY, NYPD, and investigators are currently on the scene to fight the blaze.

According to reports, around twenty vehicles were set on fire, and the blaze was brought under control around 2:30.

A fire broke out at this location just under two years ago, as reported by BoroPark24. At that time multiple vehicles went up in flames, and more than 150 firefighters fought to keep the fire under control.
