Flyovers and Air Shows: Fleet Week Brings the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard to New York City

By Y.M. Lowy

Fleet Week New York is back for its 37th year, running from May 21 through May 27. The city will once again welcome members of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.

All week long, New Yorkers can expect to see ships docked along the Hudson River and hear the roar of military aircraft overhead. Flyovers and air shows will take place across the city.

These events, along with ship tours and hands-on exhibits, give people a rare chance to see the power and skill of America’s sea services up close.
