‘Get Off the Phone, Jew!’: MTA Workers Heckle Jewish Woman

A group of MTA construction workers yelled anti-Semitic remarks at a frum Jewish woman walking past, apparently during the time they were working on the taxpayer dime.

The woman, 22, was walking near the construction site on the elevated train on McDonald Avenue and Ditmas Avenue at about 6:30 Tuesday evening. One of the workers heckled her, screaming, “get off the phone, Jew!” Other workers then joined in the chant.

The woman told BoroPark24.com that she was not frightened by the encounter itself but was surprised that state workers were not afraid to express bigotry during work hours.

“This is right next to Boro Park and many people were walking by,” she said. “This was anti-Semitism without any rhyme or reason.”
