The New York City council is preparing to hold hearings on July 12th over Mayor Eric Adams’ handling of the smoke from the Canadian wildfires that plagued New York City for days last month.
Some have accused the mayor of not issuing adequate warning to the city as the smoke was descending.
But the administration defended itself in the following statement issued by City Hall spokeswoman Kate Smart: “The city mounted a whole-of-government response to keep New Yorkers informed and protected during last month’s smoke event,” she said.
