Heimish Family Newborn Confirmed as Brooklyn’s First Baby of the Year

By Yisroel R.

New information has clarified reports surrounding Brooklyn’s first baby born in 2026 at Maimonides Medical Center.

While earlier media coverage highlighted a baby born at 2:22 a.m. on New Year’s Day, BoroPark24 has since confirmed that another baby was born earlier at the same hospital. According to verified information, a newborn was delivered at 12:04 a.m. on January 1, making that child the first baby born in Brooklyn this year.

The baby was born to a heimish family from Boro Park. The family requested privacy and chose not to participate in media coverage. As a result, the hospital later featured a different family publicly.

Hospital officials have not disputed the timeline. The clarification reflects the family’s decision to remain private rather than any discrepancy in birth records.
