History and Emotion in Bobov-45 as Chassidus Enters Massive and Magnificent Center

Nothing could have prepared the Boro Park community—and the Bobov-45 Chassidim in particular—for the magnificence and the magnitude of the edifice that has risen above Boro Park’s skyline over the past three years.
This Shabbos, the last Shabbos of the year 5785, will go down in history as the moment the Bobov-45 Chassidus finally acquired a home of its own, a world center for the chassidus which has lived out of temporary quarters for the first twenty years of its existence.
As per the express wishes of the Rebbe, the inauguration of the building is taking place on the Shabbos before Rosh Hashanah, so that the Chassidim could acclimate to their new home prior to the arrival of the exalted days of awe.
While the work has been ongoing throughout the last three years, since the cornerstone was laid, the past few weeks have seen a beehive of activity outside the building, especially since the scaffolding has been removed. Large crews of laborers could be seen placing the final touches on the building, and passersby stopped to gape at the enormous structure that has just been unveiled.
This historic moment also marks the culmination of the extraordinary sacrifice of the Chassidim who poured many millions of dollars into this project—with heart and soul—to make this dream a reality, and what a dream it is.
It should be noted that this project is only phase one of three, and will expanded to the include the Boro Park Y and neighboring buildings in the coming years, with the growth of the chassidus.
The massive campus features a gigantic shul where the Chassidus will gather for tefillos and tischen. In addition to this, a magnificent mikvah is located on the basement level. A beautiful heichal haTorah and Torah library will draw in hundreds of lomdim nearly around the clock. And the surrounding shtieblach will host minyanim throughout the day and night.
This center will infuse vitality and holiness into the entire neighborhood, and will serve as a moral and spiritual boost to the Bobov-45 chassidim who have anticipated this moment for more than twenty years.
