Huge Diesel Spill Just Minutes from Boro Park Causes Major Disruption

By BoroPark24 Staff

A large diesel spill occurred Thursday last afternoon on 24th Street, just minutes from Boro Park, after a truck was involved in an accident and crashed onto a divider, rupturing dozens of gallons of diesel.

The impact caused dozens of gallons of diesel to spill across the roadway, creating a hazardous situation for drivers and pedestrians in the area.

Emergency services, including FDNY, specialized Hazmat units, and local first responders, rushed to the scene to contain the spill and prevent further damage. Crews worked for several hours to clean up the site and ensure it was safe for public use.

The street remained closed for much of the afternoon, reopening only once the area was fully cleared and deemed safe. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but the incident caused significant traffic delays and concern among nearby residents.
