Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that restaurant workers will return to work on Friday, Feb. 12, to both re-open the city’s restaurants and to prepare for the reopening of New York City’s restaurants at 25% capacity on Sunday, Feb. 14.
Restaurants need a few days to set up properly and reorient restaurant staffs, said the governor, who is re-opening restaurants two days ahead of his original Feb. 14 target date.
“On Friday, restaurant workers will be getting ready to reopen at 25% ready for Valentine’s day, which is a big restaurant day,” said Gov. Cuomo, who last week suggested that couples can get engaged on Valentine’s Day and then have weddings in March with up to 150 guests.
