JUST IN: Bobov-45 Rebbe to Spend Historic Shabbos in Chicago for Grandson’s Shabbos Sheva Brachos

A historic Shabbos is set to take place in Chicago on Shabbos Parshas Vayeitzei, as the Bobov-45 Rebbe will travel from New York to celebrate the Shabbos Sheva Brachos of his grandson.

The chosson is a son of Harav Menachem Nochum Horowitz, R”M at the Bobov-45 Mesivta and a son-in-law of the Rebbe, the kallah is a daughter of the Chodorov Rav of Chicago. The chasunah will take place Tuesday, 7 Kislev, at the Bobov-45 Beis Medrash Hagadol, with thousands of chassidim expected to participate in the simcha.

Following the chasunah, the Rebbe will travel together with the chosson and the mechutanim to Chicago for the Shabbos Sheva Brachos. The Rebbe’s upcoming visit follows a personal request from the Chodorov Rav that he make the special trip to spend the Shabbos with the kehillah, with the visit expected to serve as a major chizuk for the Chodorov kehillah and the entire Chicago frum community. 

The Rebbe is expected to remain in Chicago for several days, with the tefillos and tischen throughout Shabbos taking place at the Chodorov Beis Medrash in the heart of Chicago’s Heimishe neighborhood.

Due to the limited space in the Chodorov Beis Medrash, only a limited number of Bobov-45 chassidim will be able to travel from New York for the historic Shabbos. Preference will be given to older talmidim of the Bobov-45 Mesivta who are close to the Rebbe Shlita who serves as the Rosh Yeshiva, and where the chosson’s father serves as a Magid Shiur and maintains a close connection with the talmidim.
