A teenager was hiking in the Neversink River Gorge Forest Wednesday afternoon when he fell off a cliff, landing near the river.
He was seriously injured in the fall, and given the remoteness of the area, it was difficult for rescuers to reach him and extricate him.
Catskills Hatzolah initiated their search and rescue team, and worked together with local emergency response teams to reach the hiker and extract him from the area.
The rescue operation took five hours, and hatzolah transport the 14-year-old to Harris a medical Center.
