Jars Opens on 13th Avenue to Offer Stylish, Matching Sets for Children

Looking for stylish, matching sets for girls, boys, and babies from six months and older for photoshoots, Shabbos, and Yom Tov?

Passersby are popping into a beautiful new children’s clothing store called Jars, which has opened its doors at 4811 13th Avenue.

“We wanted to provide Boro Park with a good children’s clothing store with fashion-forward, trendy styles that are of course within the guidelines of tznius and at reasonable prices,” said Nechama Shimanovich, who is the manager of the store.

“Everyone likes dressing their families with full matching sets,” said Shimanovich, who added that the store’s owners have been manufacturing clothing for eight years and recently decided to open up an “elegant, up-to-date retail store that is exciting and fun for kids.”

Two years ago, the store’s owners started to wholesale the Jars line to shops that sold the clothes at higher prices. Girls’ dresses, for instance, were selling between $70 to $80, but Shimanovich said, “We are trying to keep prices down by selling directly to the consumer.”

Now girls’ dresses are more in the range of $55 and less, the store’s manager said. For boys: pants and shirts are priced at $30 to $40, baby clothing costs around $32, and pajamas are $22.

“We are trying to lower prices as much as possible being that inflation is so high right now,” Shimanovich said. “It is hard for everyone, and we are trying to make things a little easier.”

While Jars offers adorable Shabbos and Yom Tov clothing for children, shoppers can also stop into the store to pick up outfits for during the week.

“Eventually, we may expand our line to offer even fancier clothing for simchas and clothing for newborns to babies who are six-months-old.”

Jars is already open, but this coming Sunday Aug. 28, from 12 to 5pm, the new store will be hosting a Grand Opening event that will offer the community, free-of-charge: face-painting, helium balloons, ice cream, popcorn, and kids’ “swag bags” with crayons, stickers, and bubbles.

“Sunday will definitely be an exciting day,” Shimanovich said with enthusiasm. “We are very happy to be in the neighborhood.”

Jars’ hours are Sunday through Thursday, from 11am to 7pm, and Friday from 11am to 2pm.
