Khal Lev Aaron Satmar Opens Doors This Shabbos
YS GOLD
This Shabbos, history will be marked in Boro Park as the doors of a brand new Satmar Kehillah will open to serve the chassidim residing in the area of Boro Park's lower avenues and higher streets.
Kehillas Lev Aaron-Satmar will be led by Rav Shaul Yechezkel Schwartz, shlit"a, one of New York's more esteemed dayonim. Rav Schwartz is the son of the Rov of Vienna, and the son-in-law of the Debretziner Rov. Despite his youth, he has gained a reputation as a brilliant dayan who fields some of the most difficult halachic dilemmas. He has previously served as a dayan in batei din of Debretzin and Karlsburg, delivers regular shiurim on complex topics throughout all areas of Shulchan Aruch, and has recently published a multi-volume halachic work which is a go-to source for young dayonim, many of whom Rav Schwartz has mentored.
It thus came as no surpirse when the Satmar Rebbe annouced his appointment to serve at the helm of the kehillah in Boro Park.
While the kehillah has acquired the site of the former Paradise Manor, on New Utrecht Avenue and 58th Street, as its new home, they will be davening--beginning this Shabbos--at Yeshiva Imrei Chaim Viznitz on 60th Street until the magnificent new Shul is built.
An entire Shabbos schedule has been arranged for this opening Shabbos, and members of the kehillah are jubuliant with the history being made.
