Mail Campaign Promotes Notify NYC Program

Boro Parkers might have recently gotten a pamphlet in the mail about a multilingual emergency preparedness program and wondered what it was.
Since many New Yorkers come from other countries and might not be fluent in English, New York City is extending its emergency preparedness program, Notify NYC, to cater to the wide variety of people living in New York.
Notify NYC is available in 14 languages, and the current mailing campaign aims to let all New Yorkers know about it so that they can sign up and utilize the program.
“When it comes to preparing for extreme weather events and protecting people outdoors, we want every New Yorker — regardless of the language they speak — to be able to utilize Notify NYC, which has helped save countless lives by providing real-time updates on weather, air quality, and other emergency issues,” Mayor Adams said.
Residents can sign up to Notify NYC notifications either online at nyc.gov/notify or by calling 311.
