Missing 19-Year-Old Found Safe After All-Night Search in Ellenville

A 19-year-old girl who went missing last night in Ellenville was found early this morning after a long search.

She was last seen around 6 p.m. By 10 p.m., Shmira, Hatzalah Search and Rescue, Chavivim Search and Rescue, Chaverim, and the New York State Police were all on the scene. Hatzalah took command, sending teams into different areas to check nearby roads and wooded terrain.

Chavivim from Rockland and Kiryas Joel brought extra help, along with floodlights, food, and ATVs to keep the search going strong through the night.

A break came when security footage showed her walking away from a nearby camp, leading searchers to focus in a new direction.

Just before 4 a.m., a Chavivim team member spotted her sleeping on a ridge. Baruch Hashem, she was not hurt and was checked right away by Hatzalah medics.

The search ended with heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly through the night. Once again, Klal Yisroel showed how they come together to help each other without a moment’s notice.
