MTA Invites Brooklyn Residents to IBX Open House Thursday Night

Interested in the new light rail that would connect Brooklyn and Queens directly?
This Thursday, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) invites residents to share their input, either in-person, or remotely, at an Open House from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Widdi Catering Hall at 5602 6th Avenue.
After holding previous Open Houses in Brooklyn and Queens this month, on November 30, the MTA will host its third meeting in which MTA officials will provide a presentation and listen to feedback about the new Interborough Express (IBX.)
Chugging along with its plan to create the infrastructure for 14 miles of new, modern transit, the MTA has kicked off its environmental review process to study how the construction and maintenance of the light rail would affect its surroundings.
Residents who are interested in learning more about the MTA’s environmental review process and how they can stay involved in the process to create the IBX, can either head to Sunset Park or join the meeting online on Thursday night.
Online participants will be able to share their feedback digitally, according to the MTA.
To attend the IBX meeting either in person or remotely, residents can register here.
