MTA Launches New Dashboard to Track Subway Construction
By Y.M. Lowy
The MTA just launched a redesigned Capital Program Dashboard that makes it easier to see all the construction happening across New York City’s transit system, including subways, Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North, and Bridges and Tunnels.
Now, anyone can check where work is happening, what’s being built or fixed, how much it costs, and when it will be completed. The dashboard also shows active accessibility projects and upcoming improvements in the 2025–2029 plan.
MTA Chair Janno Lieber says the dashboard gives riders a clear look at all the work happening behind the scenes to modernize the system. The new design makes it easier to search by subway line, project type, or priority like accessibility or resilience.
The MTA encourages users to explore the new dashboard and provide feedback as additional projects and features are added. More information, including a history of the dashboard and instructions for use, is available in the MTA’s blog series, Behind the Capital Program.
