Nationwide Cellphone Outage Affects AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile

Downdetector counted tens of thousands of cellphone customers who checked in to report outages this morning.
The outages, which began around 3:30 a.m., have affected not only cell phone service but home phone and internet as well.
While 54% of the reports say they are having issues with cell phone service, more than one-third say they have no signal at all, while 8% have reported that they are unable to access the internet from their phones.
More than 71,000 AT&T users reported outages to Downdetector. Customers of other cellphone services reported issues as well.
Most of the outages reported are in the south and southeast U.S.
While AT&T has nothing to say about the problem on social media, its website does say the following, "Some customers in your area are having trouble making or receiving calls. As a result, we are experiencing long hold times. We apologize for this inconvenience, and we are working to resolve this issue."
