New Shabbos Alarm Debuts on One Corner of Boro Park

For years, Boro Park residents have been accustomed to the sound of the famed Shabbos alarm that toots twice every erev Shabbos. 

Now, organizers are looking to bring a unique sound to herald the coming of Shabbos—a music system that will play in different zones of Boro Park, ultimately covering the entire neighborhood. 

One such speaker has already been installed on a tall building in the 20th Avenue area, covering a “zone’’ of 56th Street to 61st Street, between 19th and 20th Avenues, providing the residents of that area a musical reminder of the imminent arrival of the holy Shabbos Queen.
