New York Casinos and NYC Malls Set to Reopen September 9

New York casinos and NYC malls will be allowed to reopen on September 9 with regulations, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced Thursday.

Establishments will only be authorized to reopen once they've installed enhanced filtration systems, make wearing masks mandatory, and agree to comply with social distancing rules.

Casinos will not be allowed to offer table games or serve beverages on the gaming floor.

NYC Malls will open at 50 percent capacity, and casinos will open at 25 percent.

Meanwhile, as more and more businesses reopen, city indoor dining remains shutdown.

According to Cuomo, there is yet to be an indoor dining return date because people are not cooperating, and without cooperation, he doesn't know how he can reopen safely.

However, Mayor Bill de Blasio said NYC restaurants are overly compliant, and he hopes to have a timeline ready by the end of the month.
