Ukranian President Zelensky Warns of World War III
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine could launch World War III, warned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who urged the desperate need for intensified diplomatic attempts to end the war that has already killed thousands and displaced from their homes: 10 million Ukrainians, or one-quarter of the country’s population.
“We’re losing people on a daily basis, innocent people on the ground,” Zelensky told CNN on Sunday, adding that he has been ready to negotiate in “any format” with Putin for the past two years. “Russian forces have come to exterminate us, to kill us. Without negotiations, we cannot end this war.
“We have demonstrated the dignity of our people and army: that we are able to deal a powerful blow, we are able to strike back, but unfortunately, our dignity is not going to preserve lives.”
Putin Ominously Calls Ukrainian Invasion: “The Final Solution”
While Russian President Vladimir Putin strangely claims he is invading Ukraine to “de-Nazify” the country, at the same time, he has repeated the Nazis’ genocidal description of the Holocaust as the “final solution to the Jewish question,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today said to the Israeli Knesset, as he criticized its representatives for failing for provide arms and for failing to participate in economic sanctions against Russia.
While Russian President Vladimir Putin strangely claims he has invaded Ukraine because he needs to “de-Nazify” the country, Putin has adopted the Nazis’ genocidal terminology by calling his invasion, “the final solution,” to the “Ukrainian question, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Israeli Knesset members, whom he criticized for failing to arm his country and to sit out sanctions against Russia.
“And now, in Moscow, they’re using those words: ‘the final solution.’ But now it’s directed against us and the Ukrainian question,” Zelensky said on today’s Zoom call, as he explained that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is not a ‘military operation,’ as it’s presented in Moscow, but “an all-out war: illegitimate, intended to destroy our people, our country, our cities, our culture, and our children. Everything that makes Ukrainians, Ukrainians.”
“Our people are now wandering the world, searching for a place, just as you [Israelis] were once wanderers: seeking security, trying to stay alive, and in peace. Exactly what you have sought. What will become of Ukrainian cities after this war?”
Assembly Members Eichenstein and Amato Campaign for David Lobl in Cedarhurst
Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein, who represents District 48, and Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato, who represents District 23, campaigned today in Cedarhurst for David Lobl, who is 38 and is running to represent New York Assembly’s 20th District on the South Shore of Nassau County.
“I am in this race to protect the taxpayers of the 20th Assembly District,” said Lobl, a longtime Five Towns resident and frum Jew, who was nominated by the Nassau County Democratic Party. “Public safety is the most important quality of life issue, and we can’t have a prosperous community if we are not safe. In the Assembly I would fight to fully fund police and fix bail laws that harm our safety.”
Vizhnitzer and Nadvorner Chasidim Provide Food and Drinks for Aveilim at Leyava of Rav Kanievsky
As Israeli police prepared for one million mourners to attend the 12pm levaya of Sar Hatorah Maran HaRav Chaim Kanievsky zt”l, who was 94, Vizhnitzer and Nadvorner Chasidim in B’nai Brak got to work to cook hot food and provide cold drinks for the thousands of aveilim who flocked to the home of the Gadol haDor.
Vizhnitzers also invited the many travelling Jews to join them in their beis medrash to sit, learn, and immerse themselves in Torah before attending the levaya of Rav Kanievsky.
Other B’nei Brak residents also set up tables on every street to nourish and refresh the hundreds of thousands of visiting Jews who lost a scholar with unparalleled Torah knowledge: who inspired millions by completing Shas once a year, throughout his lifetime.
