As air travel has not been recommended in the past year and lockdowns and other restrictions have caused most of the human race to feel the urge to get out and explore the world, road trips have become the main source of travel throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
In fact, the American Automobile Association (AAA) just released a report that 2.94 million Americans are expected to hit the roads in the days of 2020.
Drivers who are planning adventures on the highways, however, should also keep in mind that fatal crashes tend to increase by 31.3% during the winter holidays, reported CoPilot, which is a car shopping service that published a study that evaluate the states that experience the largest increase in road fatalities during holidays.
In addition, drunk driving is expected to spike even higher in the days before and during the secular New Year.
Across the United States, fatal crashes that resulted from drunk drivers increased to more than 40% on New Year's Eve.
