NYC DOT Plans World Cup Watch Party Near Boro Park

Yisroel R.

NYC DOT is planning a World Cup watch party near Boro Park next month as part of the city’s expanded “Soccer Streets” program.

The local event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, at Kensington Plaza, located on Beverley Road between Church Avenue and East Second Street. The program is set to begin at 3 p.m., followed by a World Cup match viewing at 4 p.m.

The city says the Soccer Streets program is bringing public watch parties to streets and plazas across the five boroughs during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

For local residents and drivers, the Kensington Plaza event may bring extra pedestrian activity and traffic in the area, especially near Beverley Road and Church Avenue.

NYC DOT announced the Kensington location as one of five additional Soccer Streets sites, with other events planned in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens.
