NYC Sees Record Turnout For Early Voting
By Idy Perl
Early voting is in full swing in NYC, and the turnout is crushing the records from previous elections.
Saturday, the first day of early voting, saw around 140,000 people across NYC hit the polls, which is the highest turnout NYC has ever seen on the first day of early voting. By the end of Sunday more than 250,000 early votes had been cast. In comparison, during the 2020 election only 100,000 early votes had been cast by the second day of early voting.
Last night the number jumped again, with the total now at 380,000 early votes cast.
Of those votes, 40,000 on Saturday, 77,000 on Sunday, and 115,00 on Monday were ballots cast in Brooklyn.
With election day just a week away, Trump and Harris are nearly tied in many polls, with Trump recently taking the lead in several swing states.
