NYC Transit EAGLE Team Hits the Streets to Combat Bus Fare Evasion
By BoroPark24 Staff
In response to alarming fare evasion rates, the NYC Transit EAGLE Team is now actively patrolling bus stops and boarding buses across the city to enforce fare payment.
This initiative follows an MTA report revealing that nearly half of bus passengers fail to pay their fares, costing the agency an estimated $300 million annually, as reported here.
Passengers caught without payment will face fines of up to $100 as the crackdown continues until fare evasion rates are significantly reduced.
