NYPD to Appoint New Commanding Officer for 66th Precinct

The 66th Precinct will announce the appointment of a new commanding officer.

Deputy Inspector Jason P. Hagestad, the 66th Precinct's present Commanding Officer, will be designated Counterterrorism Coordinator for New York's Counter Terrorism Unit.

Captain Kenneth Herrarte, who has been with the 112th Precinct since February 2023, will be promoted as the new commanding officer of the 66th Precinct. Harrarte also served at the 111th Precinct, Patrol Borough Queens North, Military and Extended Leave Desk, Police Service Area 4, and has served as an officer since January 2006.
