By Idy Perl
On Wednesday night, two men, one 42 years old and the other 38, were peacefully sleeping on the benches outside the ShopRite on 1080 McDonald Avenue when they were approached by two other males that were holding metal pipes and a baseball bat.
The two perps started hitting the two men without warning, causing injuries to both of them. The 42-year-old sustained cuts and bruises, and the 38-year-old had swelling in his legs and stomach. Once emergency services responded to the scene both men were transported to Maimonides Hospital. The 42-year-old was released quickly, but the 38-year-old had internal bleeding and died from his injuries shortly after.
The two suspects were identified as Francisco Corocoj and Manuel Perez, and they are known to frequent the McDonald Avenue and Ocean Parkway area. The police have launched an investigation to find the two men and are asking the public to reach out with any information regarding their location.
