One Person Dead after Accident on Gowanus Expressway

One passenger is dead after an accident between a vehicle and a trailer occurred late Wednesday night on the Gowanus Expressway near 92nd Street.

The female passenger died on the spot after the vehicle she was in slammed into the rear part of the truck at around 11:23pm. The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old male was taken to a hospital in stable condition and placed in police custody.

Both vehicles remained on the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
