Ongoing Work for Accessibility Upgrades at Church Avenue Station
By BoroPark24 Staff
Construction is steadily moving forward at the Church Avenue Station, where the MTA is carrying out a major accessibility project set to be completed in Q3 2025.
The upgrades include the installation of two new elevators, two new stairways, a new control area, and a wide range of ADA-compliant improvements to boarding areas, platforms, sidewalks, and stairways. Station agent booths are also being modernized as part of the work.
The project is being completed in phases. Earlier work focused on platform reconstruction and utility relocation, followed by structural work and elevator installations. Crews are now advancing toward the architectural phase, which will give the station a more modernized design and improved passenger flow.
MTA officials emphasize that these improvements will make the station accessible to riders of all mobility levels while also enhancing safety and convenience for the entire community.
