Police Investigate Fatal Incident on Verrazzano Bridge Last Night

An emergency brought police and medical crews to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge last night, where a man was found unresponsive in the roadway.

The incident happened just before 11 p.m. on the upper level of the Brooklyn-bound side of the bridge. Emergency crews transported the man to NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn after he was found in the roadway. He was later pronounced dead.

Traffic in the area was briefly impacted as police worked at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, and police said they are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
