President Biden Touts US Economy's Strong Recovery in his First Year

By Yehudit Garmaise

One year ago today, President Joe Biden was inaugurated in front of the US Capitol Building in Washington, DC, and public health and the US economy, which were both battered by COVID, appear to be recovering as Biden continues to encourage vaccination, and he helps the economy recover by encouraging small businesses to innovate, bring new goods and services to the market, and to succeed.

Biden may be promoting left-wing priorities in other respects and promoting trillions of dollars in government spending, however, he has good ideas to bring the economy back.

The best way to tackle high prices, President Biden said yesterday at the White House, “is a more productive economy with greater capacity to deliver goods and services to the American people, a growing economy where folks have more choices, and more small businesses can compete [so] more goods can get to market faster and cheaper.”

America’s entrepreneurial spirit has responded in kind to Biden’s call to bring new goods and services to the market, as new business applications in the last year grew by 30%, which President Biden said, “is the biggest increase ever.”

To further discourage a small number of big companies that dominate several markets, such as meat processing, railroads, and shipping, Biden is facilitating the flourishing of small businesses, which will stimulate the economy.

On July 9, 2021, Biden signed an executive order to promote competition in the American economy, he said will “tackle unfair competition in our economy, and we’re going to continue to enforce it, along with working with Congress, where we can.”

Yesterday on Fox News, for instance, when Peter Doocy accused Biden, “Why are you trying so hard in your first year to pull the country so far to the left?”

Biden responded, by saying, “Well, I’m not.

“I am not Bernie Sanders, I ‘m not a socialist. I’m a mainstream Democrat.”

Yesterday, when laying out his three-point plan to fight inflation, President Biden said, “Look, I’m a capitalist.

“Capitalism without competition is not capitalism, it’s exploitation.”

In January 2021, the unemployment rate stood at 6.3%, however, after “adding more jobs in one year than any time before,” the president said yesterday at the White House, “the unemployment rate dropped to 3.9%.”

Child poverty in the past year dropped by 40%, which he said is the biggest drop ever in American history.

“We’re getting through [our previous challenges],” Biden said yesterday. “We’re laying the foundation for a future in which America wins the 21st century by creating jobs at a record pace.

“We’ve seen the grit and determination of the American people this past year.

"The best days of this country are still ahead of us.”
