PSA: Owls Head Park Closed for Renovation
By Y.M. Lowy
Owls Head Park is officially closed for construction, and for families hoping to spend the summer outdoors nearby, that’s disappointing. The park, a favorite destination for many in Boro Park and beyond, is undergoing a full $8 million renovation.
The project, funded by the City Council and the Mayor’s Office, will rebuild the basketball courts, playground, and pathways.
According to the NYC Parks Department, the design and procurement phases are 100% complete, while construction is currently 33% complete. Work is expected to continue through February 2026.
Though the main park is closed, visitors can still enjoy the waterfront by walking along the pier after crossing the Belt Parkway.
