Readers Write: Gratitude for the Sanitation Department’s Efforts in Snow Enforcement

To the Boro Park Community,

I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to the Sanitation Department for their continued efforts in enforcing snow removal regulations. While some may grumble about the fines, the reality is that their diligent work is essential for the safety and well-being of our community.

When homeowners don’t clear the snow from their sidewalks, it puts everyone, especially children and the elderly, at risk. We’ve all seen the dangers of walking on icy sidewalks, and yet, many continue to leave them covered in snow, making it difficult and dangerous for others to get around. It’s not just a personal choice; it’s a matter of safety for the entire community! If you’re unable to shovel due to being away or physical limitations, you need to make arrangements. There are plenty of local services and people willing to help out. This isn’t just about avoiding a fine, it’s about ensuring our streets are safe and accessible.

Everyone needs to do their part.

Signed,

B. Weisz
