Repairs Coming to LIRR Bridge on 18th Avenue

Today, Monday, the ongoing project of repairing the bridges passing over the LIRR, which passes through Boro Park, will come to the 18th Avenue and 53rd Street portion of the railroad. 

The project will cause the elimination of parking spots along the stretch of 53rd Street and 18th Avenue and will cause traffic to be closed alternatively on the northbound and southbound lanes between 52nd Street and 54th Street. Traffic will also be shifted to the lane usually reserved for parking. 

In all, close to 60 parking spots will be temporarily eliminated on 18th Avenue and on 53rd Street. 

These changes will be in place from Monday to Friday, from February 19 to March 15.
