Satmar Kehila Purchases Huge Lot on Bay Parkway for Major New Project

The Satmar kehila, known for its rapid expansion in Boro Park in recent years, has gone into contract for yet another massive development project.

Following the construction of their large campuses at 14th Avenue and 62nd Street and on Ocean Parkway, Satmar has now secured an enormous lot on Bay Parkway between 59th and 60th Streets.

The ambitious $55 million project will include more than 100 classrooms to accommodate 2,500 students, ensuring much-needed space for the growing mosdos. In addition, the plans feature a large takana wedding hall that will serve the community’s needs for years to come.

This mega project is yet another initiative of philanthropist Reb Lipa Friedman, son of the legendary mashbak in Satmar, Reb Moshe Friedman, continuing the family’s longstanding commitment to strengthening the kehila and its mosdos.
