Serdaheli Rebbe Traveling to Eretz Yisroel for First Time in Seven Years

By Y.M. Lowy

The Serdaheli Rebbe announced plans for a special trip to Eretz Yisroel, marking the Rebbe’s first visit in seven years.

The trip is centered around visiting the kever of the Rebbe’s mother, the Sambuteheli Rebbetzin a”h, who is buried on Har Hamenuchos in Yerushalayim. The Rebbe makes the trip once every several years in keeping with the custom not to allow seven years to pass without visiting the kevarim of his parents.

The Rebbe is expected to depart next Monday, shortly after Shavuos, accompanied by many chassidim. Before leaving, a special gathering will take place following Shacharis at the Serdaheli beis medrash in Boro Park.

The trip is expected to continue for over a week before the Rebbe returns to New York.
