Governor Kathy Hochul announced the launch of Triple Three Triple One, a real-time alert system that delivers emergency and weather updates directly to your phone. To sign up, just text the name of your county to 333111.

If you’re in New York City, you can text your borough name or simply NewYorkCity to receive alerts for the entire city. You can also register for multiple counties if you want updates for areas where family or friends live.

“This is about keeping New Yorkers safe, especially when dangerous weather or emergencies come without warning,” said Governor Hochul. “With hurricane season here, it’s more important than ever to be prepared.”

The alerts will include updates on flooding, severe storms, and where to find help like shelters or emergency services
