By Y.M. Lowy

Smoke coming from work being done on a rooftop prompted a passerby to call 911, bringing a large FDNY response to 13th Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets.

Firefighters arrived and began checking the area to determine the source of the smoke. The response quickly affected traffic along the avenue, with vehicles backing up as emergency crews worked at the scene.

The smoke was ultimately traced to the rooftop work, which had caught the passerby’s attention and prompted the emergency call.
