United Airlines Reduces Flights at Newark Airport
by Mindy Conn
United Airlines announced a ten percent reduction in daily flights this summer from Newark Airport.
United said during their second-quarter earnings call that the cut in flights will prevent issues like the ones travelers suffered at Newark over the July 4 weekend.
Instead of the usual 435 flights per day out of Newark, there are now only 410 flights per day which will be further reduced to 390 in August.
United also plans to adjust flight schedules so their planes fly back and forth to Newark instead of flying on different routes to other airports before returning to Newark.
