Weekend Weather: Fast Moving Storm Headed Here, Will Dump up to Seven Inches of Snow Early Friday
BY: Yaker Biegeleisen
A storm out of the Carolinas is moving here fast, and will
arrive here around 3:00 am early Friday morning.
We are likely to see between two and five inches of snow,
with some areas getting up to seven inches when all is said and done.
Because the storm is moving fast, the snow will stop by
Friday at 9:00 a.m., as the storm moves out.
Following the snow, we get cold, blustery temperatures
throughout Friday, up to Shabbos, plummeting into the 20’s—and, due to the
freezing tempuratures, there will not be much melting before Shabbos. It is
advisable to put salt before the storm, and as Shabbos approaches. We can
expect some melting over Shabbos.
Friday night and Shabbos will see our coldest
temperatures yet, with temps in the low 20’s overnight, and wind making it feel
even colder.
Shabbos will be sunny and very cold, with
temperatures not surpassing the 30° mark—as we experience typical seasonal
weather for early January.
