Preparations Underway in Skolya as Chassidim Gather for Yohrzeit This Shabbos
6 Shevat, which falls this Shabbos, marks the forty-third yohrtzeit
of the previous Skolya Rebbe, Rav Dovid Yitzchok Eizik Rabinowitz, zt”l, a
grandfather of the current Rebbe, shlit”a.
A master of the hidden and revealed Torah—and of hiddenness
itself—the Rebbe spent most of his years in American in seclusion with his
Creator, devoted to Torah and tefillah. But those who knew, appreciated
his greatness, and gravitated to the Rebbe.
The current Rebbe, is his eldest grandson, and was
designated as his successor.
As the 43rd yohrtzeit is marked in the
Rebbe’s court—during the tischen, and throughout Shabbos— a large tent has been erected in the courtyard
adjacent to the shul on 48th Street, to accommodate the additional
crowds who will be in Skolya for this auspicious day of remembrance and
reflection upon the great legacy of the Skolya Rebbe, zt”l.
