Two Accidents Shuts Down The NY-17, One Transported By Chopper.

This morning the NY-17, both eastbound and westbound, was blocked off at exit 119. 

Heading westbound on the 17, a tractor-trailer dump-truck was overturned at 8:00AM. 

The driver suffered only minor injuries, but it took nearly two hours to clean up.

The second crash, heading eastbound, involved two cars, one of which overturned two times. Emergency personnel were rushed to the scene at 9:30AM.

Paramedics requested a chopper for a victim who suffered serious injuries. It landed on the highway and flew the victim to Westchester Trauma Center. There were 5 others injured, they were in stable condition and transported by Hatzolah to Orange Regional Medical Center.

Both crashes are being further investigated by state police summoned to the scene.
