Anyone Want A… Boat?

Anyone Want A… Boat?

By Idy Perl

New York City is currently auctioning off an old Staten Island Ferry at a starting bid of $155,000. The auction is listed on Public Surplus, a site that sells or auctions items that were originally government property.

The big, red ferry, built in 1981, is not in running condition and is no longer operational. Whoever wins the bid would need to get it towed from the pier where it’s currently anchored.

The auction has been open to the public since May 13th and no bids have been placed so far. Click here to view the ferry and bidding information.

Seems that not too many people are very eager about owning an old ferry that doesn’t even ferry…
