EBT System Conversion and Outage Scheduled for Sunday

This Sunday, May 19, New York’s Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system will be converting to a new system and will therefore be unavailable from 12AM-11AM. This is the system through which SNAP and CA are processed as well. 

During the conversion process cardholders won’t have access to their EBT benefits and will therefore be unavailable to make purchases with their card. In addition, cash withdrawals, the EBT Customer Service Helpline, and the ConnectEBT Online Client Portal & mobile app will also be unavailable during the outage. EBT is encouraging clients to plan their purchases accordingly. 

The conversion will not change any card numbers, PINs, or other card information. EBT’s customer service lines will stay the same as well. The only changes will be for the online portal and mobile app, which customers will need to access through a new website and app. Additional information about that will be shared once it’s available.
