Arsonist Caught by Shomrim After Setting Fire to Train Construction Material
Late last night, a man set fire to construction materials attached to a train support at New Utrecht Avenue and 55th Street.
FDNY responded and put out the blaze before it could spread or cause greater damage. The fire was literally touching a nearby car, which was thankfully saved from catching fire - something that could have made the situation much worse.
Shomrim tracked the suspect on camera as he fled, following him all the way to 12th Avenue and 48th Street, where they caught up with him along with NYPD officers who then made the arrest.
