Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou Tours Chevrah Hatzolah Headquarters
As part of a series of prominent elected officials to visit Chevrah Hatzolah, Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou who represents the Lower East Side among other neighborhoods in the NYS Assembly spent several hours in an intensive tour and discussion at their headquarters. The purpose of this visit was to discuss ongoing relevant issues as it pertains to Hatzolah and its mission of saving lives each and every day across greater NYC.The meeting also allowed for Hatzolah to explain in detail the scope of its reach into the various communities it serves thereby allowing the Assemblymember to gaining a deeper understanding of Hatzolah’s reach into various communities across NYC and beyond and also to demonstrate in real time how Hatzolah’s dispatch center operates and functions when an emergency arises.
“Today I had an amazing tour of the Chevra Hatzalah whose second chapter was established on the Lower East Side and has more than a thousand volunteer EMTs and paramedics who answer more than 70,000 calls each year with private vehicles and a fleet of more than 90 ambulances.” said Assemblmember Niou.
