BDE: Reb Chaim Schonblum, z"l

YS GOLD

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Chaim Schonblum, z"l, a beloved member of the Skolya Chassidus in Boro Park for decades. He was 78 years of age, and passed away over Shabbos.

The niftar was deeply connected to the previous Skolya Rebbe, zt"l, and to his grandson and successor, ybl"ch, the current Skolya Rebbe, shlit"a.

He was an admired person both within the Skolya chassidus as well as in the Boro Park community.

He was remembered as a tremendous ba’al chessed and a sterling ba’al middos. He took upon himself numerous chessed projects—especially in the area of bikur cholim—to which he devoted himself over many years.

He loved Torah and would constantly add sedarim in learning, and he loved learning with his grandchildren—but his acquaintances describe his middas hachessed as overshadowing all of his other attributes.

Hundreds of people gathered at Shomrei Hadas Chapels on Sunday morning to pay a kavod acharon to the niftar.

Yehi zichro baruch.
