B35 Named Brooklyn’s Slowest Bus Route

The B35 bus, which runs along 39th Street through Boro Park, has been named the slowest bus in Brooklyn.

The annual “Pokey” award, given by the New York Public Interest Research Group, recognizes the city’s slowest and least efficient bus routes based on travel speed and rider experience. According to the report, the B35 travels at an average speed of just 5.36 miles per hour, despite or maybe due to having one of the highest ridership numbers in the borough.

The MTA says factors like double-parked cars, traffic congestion, and street design contribute to slower bus times.
