BDE: Mrs. Leah Ginsberg, a”h
By: Yehuda Alter
We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Leah Ginsburg, a matriarch of a prestigious family, and a longtime resident of Boro Park. She was 94.
She was born to Reb Tzvi Avigdor and Sheina Elka Rattenbach in the German city of Hamburg. For all of her life, she bore the imprint of her Ashkenazic upbringing; meticulous and proper until her last days.
She was married to Reb Moshe Yosef Ginsberg of Vienna, and together they built a Torah home, with numerous talmdei chachomim and mechanchim among their offspring.
Throughout her years, she was known for always keeping track of every single einikel and the happenings in their lives, always meticulous in all her matters.
She kept an extremely positive attitude—brimming with emunah and bitachon—despite many tribulations that she endured.
She also spent many long hours davening and reciting tehillim—until her last days. She remained regal until her final hours.
She was niftar Monday morning and interred in Old Montefiore Cemetery.
Yehi Zichra baruch.
