BDE: R’ Refoel Yitzchok Grun, z”l

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of R’ Refoel Yehuda Grun of Boro Park. He was eighty years of age.

He was born in Europe to his father, Reb Avrohom Moshe Grun, a well-known Viznitzer chossid.

Miraculously, the family made it on a ship to Eretz Yisroel, where, R’ Refoel spent his childhood.

He married Mrs. Shoshana Grun, a”h, also from Yerushalayim. They would build a beautiful Torah family together.

While he spent his days in his knitting company, he was fiercely dedicated to his Torah and avodah. He would daven in the nerby Zalitchicker Beis Medrash, and regularly attend a daf Yomi shiur in the Viznitzer Beis Medrash on 53rd Street.

He was known in both of these places, as well as to scores of family and friends, for his ever-present humor and smile, as well as his positive attitude, for which he will be remembered fondly.

The levaya is taking place in Shomrei Hadas at 12:00 noon.
